BIOGRAPHY:
They play every show like it’s their last one on earth. They whipe
innocent listeners off their feet. They do it with style. That’s
Skip the Rush. Thanks to their live reputation, the band conquered a good
part of the Dutch club circuit playing with bands like Colour of Fire,
Jimmy Eat World and Coheed and Cambria. In the Netherlands, Skip the Rush
played the Fields of Rock Festival, headlining Rammstein and Audioslave.
Furthermore they played live at national Radio 3 (club 3voor12) and KinkFM.
In 2005 they have toured the Czech Republic and played a showcase in the
UK. In the fall of 2005 a few support slots for Racoon are scheduled and
Skip the Rush has been confirmed for Noorderslag.
The national fan base is growing steadily. The band attracted more than
400 visitors to their cd presentation in the Melkweg, Amsterdam. “Whoever
doubted Skip the Rush, had a great chance to be blown away by them right
there and then. The band has proven to be ready to play the 'Lowlands
Festival'. Skip the Rush is going to make it big and nothing or no one
is going to stop them”. (Kindamuzik.net).
With their debut album ‘All is fit for tonight’ (Glam Records
/ Suburban) the band makes a clear statement. The single Elephant Song
was Kink FM’s most requested song for 4 weeks and reached number
5 on the Outlaw 41. “With 'All is fit for tonight' Skip the Rush
belongs to the best national rock bands” (Aloha), “Beautiful
album with international ambition” (LiveXS), “Skip the Rush
is a phenomenal experience, both live and on cd ” (8weekly).
The press describe Skip the Rush’ music as: “better British
rock bent to American standards” (Aardschok) and “almost-pop
for the almost-masses” (Oor). ”The combination of rock, emo
and punk sounds extremely dynamic and intense“ “sounds like
a mix of Foo Fighters, Placebo and At the Drive-in” (LiveXS). Aloha
Magazine writes: “an easier digestible version of The Mars Volta,
but with real songs”. “Skip the Rush is rock, punk, pop and
indie, but with a very headstrong undertone.” 8weekly
